Overview

Overview and key benefits.

A practical summary for procurement, R&D and QA teams comparing application fit, format and processing requirements.

Date seed coffee uses the kernels rather than the sweet flesh of the date. The DF 100 grade is a dark-brown powder with coffee-like flavour and aroma, intended for coffee and cocoa replacement trials. Evaluate it on its own or as part of your complete formulation.

Country of origin: Iran. 100% natural, with no additives.

  • For a bulk date seed coffee enquiry, share your beverage or food application, brewing or mixing method, filtration setup, order quantity and destination. Request a DF 100 sample, current minimum order and lead time for the 25 kg bag.
Technical notes

How it’s made

Date seeds are separated from the flesh, roasted and finely ground for brewing. Roasting develops their toasted character; grinding exposes more of the seed material to water during brewing.

Roasted depth suits standalone brews and blended drinks, offering a seed-based flavour direction distinct from the sweetness of date flesh.

Where it fits

01

Develop filtered hot drinks, café recipes and branded beverage concepts. Start with the intended brewing method and sensory profile, then compare a shortlist of roast and grind options.

What to evaluate

01

Evaluate extraction, aroma, bitterness, filtration and sediment. Confirm the proposed product’s composition, food-safety documentation and suitability for your destination and brewing equipment.

Application notes

Build a repeatable cup

Begin with a plain brew

Compare coded samples using the same water, equipment, preparation method and serving temperature. Record the dry aroma and the brewed result separately before introducing milk, a plant-based drink or a sweetening ingredient.

Describe the cup you prefer

Use a short tasting record covering roasted aroma, bitterness, body, aftertaste and visible sediment. Agree which attributes should lead and which should remain in the background, then retain the preferred brew as a sensory reference.

Connect preparation to the format

For a café or packaged product, include the intended brewing and filtration method in the brief. Record the form of the supplied ingredient and the instructions you intend to test; a ground seed and a soluble extract call for different preparation routes.

Questions

Ingredient questions

Is this an instant beverage powder?

No. The listed DF 100 grade is insoluble in water. Trial extraction, filtration and sediment with your intended preparation method before defining the finished beverage.

How does date seed coffee differ from date sugar?

Date seed coffee is made from date kernels. Date sugar (date powder) is made from dried, milled date flesh. They are separate ingredients with different roles in a formulation.

Can the DF 100 grade be used in cocoa replacement trials?

The grade is described as a coffee and cocoa powder replacer. Set the inclusion rate through trials of flavour, colour, texture and processing in the complete recipe.
