Overview

Overview and key benefits.

A practical summary for procurement, R&D and QA teams comparing application fit, format and processing requirements.

Deionization is a refining step that reduces mineral ions in date juice. It is relevant when a formulation calls for closer control of the non-sugar components in a liquid date ingredient.

Country of origin: Iran. 100% natural, with no additives.

Technical notes

How it’s made

Deionized date concentrate starts with extracted, clarified date juice. Deionization uses ion exchange to reduce dissolved mineral ions, while water removal increases the concentration. Colour refinement is a separate part of processing; deionization alone does not determine the final colour.

This refined liquid provides date-derived sweetness for drinks and food preparations where the mineral content and appearance of the chosen grade matter.

Application notes

Where it fits

01

Explore beverage bases, dairy preparations and other recipes with a defined sweetness and colour target. Compare it alongside date syrup and date liquid sugar using the actual proposed specifications.

Technical notes

What to evaluate

01

Ask for soluble solids, sugar profile, colour, ash or conductivity, flavour and microbiological specifications. Deionization alone does not establish a particular colour or flavour profile.

Application notes

Give the refined grade a clear brief

Set the appearance reference

Prepare the intended base without the date ingredient, then compare the proposed concentrate in that same base. Use a visual reference for the acceptable colour and clarity so the discussion is more precise than a request for a light or neutral product.

Keep grade and sample together

Keep the sample code with the proposed specification and process description. Review the stated mineral-related parameters separately from colour and taste; the word deionized does not supply acceptance limits for all three.

Approve the use case

Summarize the preferred sample by its performance in the selected drink, filling or dessert. Carry that product-specific result into the next trial instead of assuming the same grade will give an identical result in every base.

Questions

Ingredient questions

How is it different from date syrup?

Date syrup is generally chosen with its date character in mind. A deionized grade has undergone additional refining; the specification and sample determine how much the two differ in a recipe.
