Overview and key benefits.
A practical summary for procurement, R&D and QA teams comparing application fit, format and processing requirements.
Tomato paste concentrates tomato into a dense ingredient with a clear place in savoury cooking. It is used to build a tomato foundation or deepen an existing one, allowing sauces, soups and slow-cooked dishes to develop a fuller tomato direction.
Start with a sauce base of tomato, herbs and spices, or use the paste alongside other vegetables in a braise or soup. It also provides a starting point for glazes and sweet-savoury sauces with fruit ingredients such as date syrup or pomegranate. Tomato paste is a recipe ingredient rather than a finished pasta sauce, so seasoning and final consistency remain part of your creation.
Country of origin: Iran. 100% natural, with no additives.
How it’s made
Tomatoes are pulped and refined to remove most skins and seeds, then concentrated by removing part of the water. The resulting paste delivers tomato in a dense format for building the base of sauces, soups and other savoury recipes.
Concentrated tomato flavour and body give savoury depth to sauces, braises and soups, providing a foundation for herbs and spices.

A closer look
How is tomato paste different from passata?
Paste is a concentrated tomato ingredient. Passata is a strained tomato preparation with a different consistency and degree of concentration, so they play different roles in a sauce recipe.
